Traeger Tours

Hi, I'm Sharon Traeger of Traeger Tours.

I've lived in the San Francisco Bay area since the 70's but it wasn't until I became a local tour guide that I truly began to appreciate this magical area.  We enjoy a mild mediterranean climate and a beautiful setting with people from every nation and culture.  I love showing off our area to visitors--  from the vibrant metropolitan city of San Francisco,  to the dynamic technology of SIlicon Valley, to the bucolic wine country of Napa and Sonoma, and the historical and natural features of Monterey and Carmel--it's all within reach.

Join me for a walking tour in a specific neighborhood like Chinatown or the Mission or Fisherman's Wharf. Or, join me in a motorcoach touring the highlights of San Francisco. Or, join me as we use the public transportation system....cable cars, streetcars, buses and subway to explore far-reaching areas of the city.

I have a BA in English from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and an MA  in Art and Literature from the University of Chicago. 

I have taken many tours over the past 15 years and given many tours.  I have achieved the title Certified Tour Director through ITMI (International Tour Management Institute) in 2010. 

I passed all requirements to be Certified Tour Guide from the San Francisco Tour Guide Guild in 2015

For 5 years  (2015-2020)  I also acted as a driver/guide, giving me a unique perspective on seeing the city and on visiting the surrounding areas.

I am interested in art, architecture, food, music, nature, etc..... and take many courses from Continuing Education related to my tour guiding. I also take French (since 2020) and continue to work on the language.

My husband and I enjoy traveling to destinations near and far.  We've recently visited India, Africa, and Europe.
